great lines

Harry: You go back to her place, you have sex, and the minute you're finished, you know what goes through your mind? How long do I have to lay here and hold her before I can get up and go home? Is 30 seconds enough?

Sally: That's what you're thinking? Is that true?

Harry: Sure. All men think that. How long do you like to be held afterward? All night, right? See, that's the problem. Somewhere between 30 seconds and all night is your problem.

Sally: I don't have a problem.

Harry: Yes, you do.

  3. I love that movie too but my 3 favourite movie lines are;

"Snap out of it" from Moonstruck (Cher)

"Well, it's not the men in your life that counts, it's the life in your men" from I'm No Angel (Mae West)

"Instant gratification takes too long" from Postcards from the Edge (Meryl Streep)

  6. Love this movie (own it on DVD), and I love Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. I miss them, wonder what they're doing these days?

  7. I tend to want to psychoanalyze everything. This dialogue (between Harry & Sally) is no different.

I know plenty of women who are NOT cuddlers (and they would NOT want to be held). I have also dated plenty of men who were very definitely the touchy-feely-wanna-hold-you-all-night types.

Personally? I prefer MY side of the bed to be inhabited by ME (and maybe my two little dogs if my partner doesn't have to get up super early, can tolerate their farting, rustling and yawning all night and is willing to allow it).

Dog touching all night is fine. Man touching? Phllllllbbbbbbbbt.

  8. I say Ask Lermontov. I am sure he has the proper answer.

  9. Great movie, but I like to hold Mrs. F. She wants to get up and get on with the next thing. So I guess it is different for different couples.

  10. Lerm - Sometimes it's good to just get outta there, lol

Kari - I really like the "men & women can't be friends" bit too

Lou - I just watched Moonstruck last month. Excellent movie!

Noc - I was thinking that last night as well. My fave part is the older couples on the couch, explaining how they met.

ST - I like my side of the bed too.

Fitz - you're a romantic! We are too, but lately we just pass out, lol
