word verification snafus

I've been trying to comment on several journals (Tammy and Bobby come to mind) but the word verification thingy is not loading. If you're considering taking those off, please rest assured that in the two months I've been here, I haven't encountered one spam comment.

Today is the second day that Bill is on vacation this week, and already I can see how difficult it's going to be when we're both retired. He completely ruins my routine, which causes me anxiety! Basically, I get up at 9:30 every day, have a shower and blog for at least an hour while I drink my coffee. When my hair is dry, I flat iron it, do my make-up and get dressed and head out the door.

This morning he got up, ran a bath, and started reading the news on the computer. I went back to bed, turned on the TV to watch Cold Case Files, but the anxiety kept building up so that forty minutes later I had to ask him to get in the damn bath because he was ruining my routine, lol.

Happy Tuesday ~

  1. I know how that goes. Jim and I have some how adjusted, but it wasn't easy. I still get more done when he is not here.

  3. I wish that – as Lermontov already appealed several weeks ago – that everyone would disable the word verification feature in their journals unless they have a problem with comment spam. I’ve had my journal running without it for nearly two months, and I haven’t had any problems at all.

  5. I mentioned that darn captcha problem, too... hopefully the word gets around. So far, I have also had no spam and mine is even open for outsiders.

  6. One my bloggers wasn't having problems with spam comments but some nasty piece of shiz was leaving crap all over her blog. Sad some of the souls out there.
Sorry your morning was upset -- I have given up trying to keep a routine -- my sweetie keeps changing his shift and I keep having to change mine but I don't mind in the least - its way better than the silence - right!!

  7. We men like wasting time as well as you women and the news does take a long time to read as well!

  8. kate---Sorry about your morning. I work at home...my wife doesn't. While I love it when she's home...it really throws me out of kilter. I totally understand what you're talking about with the routine thing.

Now let me see if this comment takes!

  9. There has been a lot of noise about the word verification not working. I managed to track down a thread in the Help forums, and the right people are now aware of it too.

As for husbands at home? Just throw the day out of the window. It just doesn't work.

  12. when i saw this, i just have to say, yay.. WV is back on again. It was so frustrating trying to just send some comments to some blogs i visited but the loading part..then i realised..no amount of head bashing while waiting was going to help.

i like your blog. there's humour, there's warmth. i will come visit again later..bye for now.

  13. I read in a blog somewhere that not only spammers can get ya, but also some blogs have been hacked into.

I have all 4 of my blogs here without the captcha thingy. I hate that anyway. Time will tell if anything happens. Meanwhile, mine is staying off!

  16. lol..I am the same way when my hubby has a vacation day! We always spent extra money on those days too for food and stuff which also annoys me because we are on a tight budget.
