lonely sunday night

Here's a picture of the harbour houses we saw on our trip to Victoria last Summer. I love getting out to BC and try to go as often as we can, but the trips can start costing as much as $2,500 if we get carried away.

I'm not sure what we'll do this coming summer - I'd like to do some camping with the family, and I'd also like to have a honeymoon trip, but it's hard to find someone to look after Em.

Speaking of family, one of Bill's paternal uncles died on Friday night. I guess Kevin was a biker (not sure which group) as well as an addict, and he over-dosed in Niagra Falls. I was always a little worried about this uncle! Bill tells a story about being in his mom's house with a group of people having coffee, and something Kevin said or did set Bill off and he swung his coffee cup full force across Kevin's cheek. From then on, no one knew if his threats were legit or not. I guess I don't have to worry anymore.

Bill is actually gone tonight, making this the third time I have had to sleep without him since he moved here in 2005. I just hate the thought of it.

  1. I really got used to taking sleeping pills when T. was living in Cali and here in Havasu. It's the only way I could cope. Then I got used to being alone. Now I cherish that alone time but not when it comes to bedtime. I guess the longer you're with someone the more used to them you get. Hope you get some rest :)

  2. I married a nurse, so there were many nights I slept alone, many evenings I was home alone, many days on weekends I was by myself or else it was just me and the boys.

Three nights in 3 1/2 years is pretty good :-)

  3. I don't like being alone when it comes to bedtime either! When I was single and had pets they slept with me for comfort - not nearly the same as a man that loves you muchly.

  5. Hope you slept okay last night; hopefully, times without him will be very very few. :)

  6. Sounds as if the uncle needed some anger management sessions...or, slapping back.

Know what you mean about going to bed alone...I can't sleep on those rare occasions that my wife isn't here, or for that matter, if she gets up sometimes when she's restless.

  7. It is a great picture and a wonderful warm memory in the midst of winter. I never sleep well unless Tony is there too. It is something that we become used to. Sounds like the Uncle going is soemthing elss for youto worryabout and that is a good thing. Maggs
