Here's what I got for the $50 gift card they issued me:
- A nativity set marked down with 60% off the last marked price
- A box of 16 Christmas cards for next year
- A ginger-spice candle
- kitchen cleaner
- two cans of pledge furniture polish
- two Rubbermaid sandwich containers
- dill pickle chips
- mini-bags of popcorn
- 4 litres of chocolate milk
- 1 lb of butter
- Eggo Pancakes
Does that seem like what you might get for $50? I love getting things that seem almost free. In this case, I think I had to pay an additonal 83 cents.
that's fun! I think you'll get a lot more out of those things then the boots....
ReplyDeleteI love getting great deals like that! :-) I didn't know that Old Dutch was sold there!!! How cool! Good job on the great deals!!
ReplyDeleteI usually think that when I goto Costco. Some days I walk out and think, this is all I got for $x and other days I'm excited I got all this for $x.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a much better deal than boots you didnt like and would never wear again.
I know what you mean about shoes & boots. If they make me feel less than awesome? I don't wear 'em.
ReplyDeleteGood for you wise shopping girl!
I know Canadian dollars are a bit different - it seems I could get a lot more for fifty bucks but who knows when you're in another country?
ReplyDeleteWell, you certainly got a lot more than if you’d been forced to eat the boots.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly seems like a much better deal than the boots! I hate it when I buy shoes that later disappoint me.
ReplyDeletenow I want some chocolate milk
ReplyDeleteI would certainly rather have cleaning supplies and nibble foods than purple boots, but thats just me :-)
ReplyDeleteIt doesnt seem like alot to me really for $50 but money does'nt stretch very far these days.I probably could have gotten all of that for alot less here in the US but I would have gotten store brand names on some of the items like the waffles, pledge and the milk.I am a huge bargain shopper though on everything.*hugs* Happy Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI remember ...early 1980's working in Calgary (my wage at the time was more than the current minimum wage in Alberta - that's 28 years!!!)and my boyfriend at the time and I had a $150.00 for 2 weeks grocery budget ...and that included a carton of cigarettes. I no longer smoke and damn ...$150 now doesn't fill up many bags ...especially when you are trying to eat healthy.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great deal, instead of the boots you did'nt like!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry for pancakes.
I'm surprised that they would take back the boots. They had to have worn some on the sole if you wore them to work, even one day. What store was that?
ReplyDeletepurple rain...purple rain....
ReplyDeletepurple rain...purple rain....
purple rain...purple rain....
sing along now!
Nice!
ReplyDeletejadedj - The Bay, formerly Hudson's Bay Company of Canada. Since I have been in retail for 12 years, I pretty much know the return policies of most stores before buying.
ReplyDeleteIn this case, all I had to say was that I was unhappy with the quality, and they took them back and put the money on a gift card. Then I went to Zellers and spent the gift card :)
I'll have to look into store return policies from now on. I never thought about that much, considering.
ReplyDeleteYou got a pretty good deal on all of that though. :)
