the weekend is half over?

What a busy few days!

Yesterday I went for an interview at a health insurance provider and it went very well. They won't be making any decisions for a few weeks. Then I had my telephone interview with the clothing store and it went well too. The manager of the place where I work weekends thinks it's mine for the taking, so I hope that's true. I imagine I'll hear more on Monday or Tuesday.

After I finished at the office, I had an appointment to sell some insurance, so that was exciting since I haven't done much prospecting in the last few weeks. I still have several more policies to drum up to pay for my last month's rent.

I worked at the clothing store today and I have to tell you - it sure doesn't seem like there's a recession going on. Women were spending hundreds of dollars on capris and work clothes, and we finished the week at 121% of our budget.

We did a huge percentage of that today and I'm exhausted! I'm going to have a nap, and check in with you all in a bit.

Hope your weekend is nice so far.

  1. I can understand the difficulty seeing the recession. I had this same experience at three different places today including a very crowded reataurant tonight!

Good luck on your job search!

  3. I went grocery shopping tonight, and the place was packed and the shelves picked over pretty good. Plus, went to the liquor store to buy some wine and it was busier than heck!!

Is it a full moon or something? Kathy, great to hear the interviews went well. Blue skies, kiddo, nothin' but blue skies... :)

  6. That's all the advice women need to spend, when somebody says the best way to get out of a recession is to spend and that's what you women like doing best!

  7. we went to the mall and the cheescake factory yesterday it was packed. The only place I have noticed a recession is the movies lol. We went on thursday night and watch 12 rounds and had the theater to ourselves. Yesterday we saw I love you man and there were only like 4 other groups.

  8. Sherrlyn of http://www.lovesimplyhappens.blogspot.com says... Just found your site so Hello! I think that a lot of people have "time" for the first time in their lives from working hard labor jobs everyday. Now with an unemployment check ...it's shopping time! (at least for now) 6months down the road it will be different. my 2 cents.

  9. Hi Sherrlyn. Thanks for stopping by!
I think that a lot of Albertans have received a tax refund recently, too.
