My step-dad, Jim had hip replacement surgery this morning, and he's doing very well. I am so relieved! I met my parents and Jim's brother and his wife at the hospital this morning at 5:45, and stayed with Mom after Jim went down to the operating room. By early afternoon he was feeling pretty good and I was able to finish a few errands, before coming home for a quick nap.
After going back to see him again this evening, we went to see Watchmen at the cheap theatre. Good movie but long, and there seemed to be a lot full frontal nudity. Not that I mind.
My moniter tanked again - for the second time! Right now we have a TV moniter fit into the desk, and it's so large that it's freaking me out, lol.
Have a good night!

Glad your s-dad doing good. Must be freaky with giant monitor lol - there's always something that we have to spend money on eh?
ReplyDeleteHope he is feeling better real soon.
ReplyDeleteI had both of my hips done at the same time 4 years ago. After the short term pain goes away, he will need lots of help for several weeks because of the loss of flexibility. I couldn't put my own socks on for 6 months.
ReplyDeleteThey have come a long way with that hip surgery. I have heard the pain goes away very quickly and most folks are thrilled with the results.
ReplyDeleteexactly, they have really come a long way on hip surgery... my mother had a replacement 2 years ago-- strength and fast healing to your step-dad! --hugs
ReplyDeleteTell him to listen to his physios -- or as they call my husband - -physioterrorist. My dad had his hip done and after recovery the change was magical.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear he is recovering well. *hugs* Hope y'all have a great upcoming weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest brother had hip replacement surgery years ago (he has anklosing-spondilitis/a very severe form of arthritis) and he's still doing AWESOME with it.
ReplyDeleteI told him he should have saved his old bones -- thrown them on his bed and invited any visitor they could "jump his bones" any time they want.
(Sic humor. I know)
Thanks everybody! I'm headed back to see him now.
ReplyDeleteI am delighted he is beginning his recovery. My mum has had two hop replacements and it eased so much pain she had lived with for so long and improved her quality of life. Otherwise I udnerscore everything else everyone has said. Maggs
