I have come to love Portulaca Grandiflora, or Moss Rose.
It's planted all over the front yard but absolutely thrives in hot, dry, sunny locations! This patch is at the end of my walkway, amongst the sedum, allium and Black Velvet petunias.
There's a small chance it'll survive our Zone 3 winter, but only if it gets sufficient cover.
Portulaca is a favourite of my mum; it is colourful and took a season or two to flower. Our winters are milder than yours by far.

ReplyDeleteIts pretty, and looks very much like what we grow out here, simply for the fact they require little water, or it seems like it,lol.Thrive they do.

The rose is at the peak of its charm my fren. Lets enjoy it. In every life winter has to come. So do not worry..The rose is born not to be born again and it must die not to die again. Lets think for ourselves and learn from this beautiful creation of urs and nature..Thanks for sharing..happy new year.
