I just loved having Dexter, the polydactyl boy kitty in the pic. He has seven toes on his front paws (they look like oven mitts!) He was just a baby when Jamie's friend abandoned him, and if we could have handled two cats, we would have kept him.
Thank goodness, my mom took him in for us. She's had him for a few years now and he's huge! They call him Toes now.
Toes is a great name, and he looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteHe's like the cats on the Hemmingway estate... they all have those extra toes. I think it's adorable!!
ReplyDeleteHe's cute
ReplyDeleteI had one once. He wandered up and i loved his paws. He was black. I called him Boston Blackie. When he sat up with his paws in front it was like a cat in a tux. He was cool.
ReplyDeletePretty cat - love the name. We had a three legged shepherd in our neighbour hood - they called him Tri-Paws. We were positive he thought all the other dogs were handicapped with four legs - neat dog.
ReplyDeleteGlad your mom gave Toes a home.
We have one such polydactyl cat...Tula. Best cat we've ever had. Got her at the Humane Society and it was love at first sight.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder what sort of creature they have descended from. The many toed saber toothed polydactyl.
ReplyDeleteOh for crying out loud I meant saber toed not saber toothed. Never mind.
ReplyDeleteLove that name! I'm sure Toes is sitting pretty now:)
ReplyDeleteHe's a tabby and that's all that matters :-)
ReplyDeleteI love all animals and those with unique features (like the extra toes) seem even more special. How comforting to know you were able to find a loving home for him when you could not care for the kitten yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet looking kitty.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a cute 7-toed kitty.
